This year’s IBM Pulse 2008 EXPO Hall is going Virtual !

For the first time at any IBM Conference, we are proud to offer to all our sponsors and exhibitors the opportunity to be a part of the Virtual World that is the 3D Internet.  IBM Pulse 2008 has joined forces with IBM Business Partner DSCI, the creators of the product called Virtual Convention.  This new technology will give our sponsors an amazing marketing tool to extend the reach of the IBM Pulse 2008 event even farther.  Your booth can now be represented in a 3D format that will allow attendees of Pulse to interact with sponsors during and after the live event as if they were actually there !

This technology will allow the EXPO hall attendee to:
a) Continue to have an EXPO experience even after the conference has competed.
b) Walk the EXPO floor as if they were there right from the comfort of their desktop.
c) Have the flexibility to visit each vendor booth at their own leisure and focus on the products and services
    that you have to offer.
d) View your presentations, marketing materials and link to your web sites with easy navigation tools.

Virtual Convention also includes a tracking mechanism that monitors a user's movements in the virtual world and provides valuable reports on the usage of the product by the attendee, booths visited, information gathered and other pertinent information that will be shared with you 90 days after the show has completed.
Check out this link to a video which will demonstrate how this leading edge technology will extend your marketing reach longer after the conference is over.

FREQUENTLY ASKED Q & A’s

What is Virtual Convention?
A. Virtual Convention is a product of DSCI that allows you to post your content in a virtual three dimensional representation.  Vendors and sponsors purchase “Virtual” space (just as they do for the actual event) and are given a booth with customizable imagery, URL links, PDF viewer and video.  The Virtual Conventionwill be burned onto a DVD and distributed to all attendees in their conference bag.

How do I purchase my virtual booth space?

A. Proceed to
http://www.dsci.com/pulse/vconpulse.htm.  Once you log in, you will be presented with a commerce web page that will accept major credit cards (American Express, MasterCard, Visa).

How will the attendees use Virtual Convention?

A.Upon registration, a DVD containing the Virtual Convention softwarewill be handed out as part of the attendees welcome package.  This virtual experiencewill contain every last detail of the IBMPulse 2008 event EXPO floor.  This includes the data and documentation that you will upload via the Virtual Convention web site.

How do I upload my data to the Virtual Event?

A. It’s easy!  DSCI will provide a web site that will have all of your information & sponsorship level already set up.  Upon verification of virtual attendance you will be provided a user id and password along with a URL link to the web site that will include a set of instructions of how to proceed.

What format should my material be in ?
A. For graphics we prefer a JPEG or BMP format.  For marketing literature we prefer a PDF or JPEG format.  For videos, we prefer a MPEG, AVI, Quicktime or WMV (Windows Media) format.  For PowerPoint, the standard PPT or PDF format is acceptable.

What is required to run Virtual Convention from the DVD?

A.  PC with Windows Vista, XP or Windows 2000, 1.5Ghz CPU or greater, 1GB of RAM, 250mb free hard drive space and an OPENGL 1.2 or greater compliant video card.

Who do I contact for questions ?
A. DSCI is the owner of the Virtual Conference software and will be building the PULSE 2008 Virtual EXPO Center.  Any questions regarding the Virtual EXPO should be directed to DSCI at
vcon@dsci.comor1-877-DSCI-BUY.

What kind of booth can I buy ?

A. The sponsorship participation level you purchased must match in the Virtual EXPO.  So, if you are a Silver sponsor then you must choose the Silver level in the Virtual version as well.
